To Raymond

To Raymond
Our Love Story

In the year nineteen forty seven
We said our marraige vow,
Now it's sixty five years later-
Take a look at us now!
Thwre's silver in our hair
And a slowness in our stride,
There have been many changes
Since you took me as your bride.
Still we've weathered all the changes,
To make it to this day,
And through our joys and sorrows
Love has always lead the way!
With family, friends, and faith,
With strength from God above-
Our story is unending
The story of our love!

Christmas In Texas

Christmas in Texas was special this year
Because of the children we had here-
There was Lily the diva, and Ben the Wild Child,
Who played and jumped where pillows were piled!

With toy vacuums the kids swept the floor
They rode their tricycles and so much more

Sharon had trees of all colors and sizes,
Toys and trinkets, all sorts of devises!

Mike was the chef - who did things up right,
We ate and we drank all day and all night-
Jaimee baked pies with Lily as her aide
Jaysa cleaned up the mess we all made!

Then, time came for our final goodbye
When you're having fun, time surely does fly-

So Christmas is gone for another year,
But don't despair - it'll come again next year!

Lily came to see Pop and Grandma Ellis and while she was shy at first, she warmed up pretty quickly and took Pop's heart away. He is very enamoured with his Great granddaughter and has no qualms about letting every one know it. I think she returned his admiration too. She seemed to be a bit partial to Pop over an old Grandma! I can forgive that as I am kinda partial to Pop also.

March 14th Birthdays

It's our birthday today,
Now isn't that fine-
We were born and live under
The pieces sign.
We have good qualities,
A few bad ones too
We're loving and generous
When we feel it's due.
We're loyal to family,
Through thick and through thin-
We dearly hate losing
And we love to win!
We are children of March,
We are honest and true-
And we kick up our heels
When our birthday is due!

Winter In Sherman

In early February we had a substantial snowstorm. The Renaissance looked very beautiful from inside, but outside it was colder than crap. After a week of this, Pop had cabin fever and I asked him where he wanted to go. He replied "just any place!" Well, we don't usually go any place as I told him. His remark was "I want to be able to whether I actually go or not!" All and all, we all enjoyed the sight of new fallen snow, even though half our workers couldn't get here and service was slow and the menu limited...but always with a smile.

On October 19th my two fellows will celebrate a twin birthday. My son was born on his Pop's 24th birthday. Then my son married a girl who was born on my 24th birthday. How's that for coincidence? At least, we have only two days to celebrate! Pop loves to tell every one about his great birthday gift. He thinks it was ordained.

As we age, we are more and more aware that life has a way of being what it is and not what we expect. So far, we have been fortunate to have a family and friends to see us through all the rough spots.
Hapy birthday to my two favorite men and many more. I feel blessed to have you in my life.

The Renaissance
If you are old,weak,-or tired like me,
Then The Renaissance is the place to be,
The rooms are spacious with cleaning included-
Salesmen and peddlers are strictly precluded.
Meals are served with stylish grace-
No waiting lines for residents to face!
Fruits, sweets, and coffee are inbetween treats,
There are ice cream socials and popcorn to eat!
Entertainment is often and well received
By attendees who are most happily pleased.
The Social Director plans trips out to eat,
And Casino trips for those on their feet-
There are exercise classes to keep you fit
And lounging places to just visit and sit.
A salon is in house, for beauty's sake -
The library is open- with books to take.
There's resident meetings to air your views,
There are announcements made, to apprise you of news,
So if keeping house is becoming too much-
If you can no longer cook, clean, and such,
Then visit The Renaissance and you will see-
Why it's the perfect place you need to be!
